Install the Zune
software on your computer and connect your phone
The Zune or Windows
Phone Connector software is required to be installed on your computer to
perform the update. If you don't already have it, install this software on your
computer:.
- Download and install the Zune software for the PC (http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9753463)
- Download the Windows Phone Connector for the Mac (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=208550)
If you already have Zune software installed on your PC, make sure that it's
updated to the current version:
1. Disconnect your Windows Phone from your
computer and start the Zune software.
2. Click Settings, click Software,
and then click General.
3. Under Software Updates, click Check for
updates.
4. Follow the instructions to install any updates
and then reconnect your Windows Phone to your computer by using the USB
cable that was included with your phone.
Once the Zune software is installed and updated, connect your phone:

Make sure that you are
using the USB cable which was included with your phone. Do not use a USB hub or
ports on the front of your computer.
